Lisa Wood, the gentle giant, has been coming to the aide of homeowners in distress since the great recession of ’08. Her high-powered negotiating skills with the worlds biggest banks have made her one of the most sought after short sale and loan modification specialists in the Northeast.

Lisa has received acclaim for her work from some of the biggest bank executives, mortgage brokers, title companies, agents and other industry professionals for her tenacity and ability to get the seemingly impossible deals done.

Already a licensed real estate agent, In 2010 Lisa acquired the Maryland Credit Services Business License, a certification that made her 1 of 22 people in the state qualified to negotiate short sales on behalf of home owners.

She has successfully negotiated over 96% of her short sale files and has become a leading authority and trainer for other short sales agents in MD, DC, VA and West Virginia.

I’ve always wanted to help people, even when I was a little girl I wanted to take care of my sister and the kids in the neighborhood. Being a caretaker and nurturer is something that is a part of who I am. I always thought I’d end up being a nurse and even worked in a doctors office for a long time.”

When I saw what was happening to homeowners my heart dropped. Families, entire neighborhoods were being destroyed all around me. I felt like many of these homeowners had been taken advantage of and that just angered me. I could see them all, lost and confused, parents were unsure what to tell their kids and felt like they couldn’t even look their friends and family in the eye!”

The thought that this was happening to people everywhere was just terrible to me. I made a decision that I would do whatever I could to help these homeowners and their families. I made a commitment to be their advocate. I worked very hard to learn every aspect of the business. I’ve spent the past 6 years focusing on becoming the best short sale expert in the region and am proud of the track record and reputation that I’ve acquired along the way.

What I’m most proud of however are all the people that I’ve been able to help. It seemed to me that these homeowners who were in distress, more than anything needed somebody that would take them by the hand through the entire process – someone that had the patience and ability to explain exactly what needed to be done – someone to guide them. A calm and steady hand that can ease their fears so they don’t feel so lost and alone.

I pour myself into every case and I see the person behind each file as someone deserving of a second chance to get things right – to get their lives back together. Seeing the relief a homeowner has after working with me makes all the hard work worth it. What could be better than to help a family in need?
